Shawnee Lake Colorado Trout fishing
Want to go fishing close to Denver but the rivers are swollen from
runoff?? Come fly fish this premier private trout filled lake only about
an hour from Denver. Great for a quick trip out of the city with the
possibility of catching some very large trout. The lake has been
stocked periodically over the years and is fed from the North Fork of
the South Platte. This constant water supply allows the trout to winter
exceptionally well and grow to very large proportions. With abundant
insect activity and lots of natural and diverse food sources these trout
grow very quickly. Several techniques can be used on the lake.
Anglers can fish from shore or belly boats. The trout, especially the
rainbow trout, will sometimes eat dry flies with enthusiasm. In spring,
streamers are very effective and all year a variety of sub-surface
presentations can be deadly. If you are looking for a small still-water
fishery close to Denver, trying to find a good place to fish or fun things
to do when vacationing in Colorado, this lake might be a perfect
guided Colorado trout fishing trip option.
Shawnee Lake is a members-only Colorado trout fishing club and has
a limit of 4 rods per day. The rod fee for the lake is $60 per day per

access this private Colorado trout fishing lake.
A hot 5-star Western style lunch can be added to the day for an
additional $15 per person.
We have adjacent river access with exceptional trout fishing that can
accommodate groups up to 10 people who want to combine fishing the
river and the lake. There is an additional rod fee for the river. Please
see North Fork Meadows.
